the BLAZER!

Steven Alan
what I like: the pop of color that the blazer gives and the double breasted blazer!!!!!!!!!
what I don't like: the pants, what would be awesome is if they were tight and that would create a contrast between the effortless, loose blazer to the tight pants. maybe a different pair of shoes

here is a look at the blazer alone

Carven
What I like: The blazer (double breasted!!!, the color is amazing!!!! and the fact that there is no collar is awesome!!!! just love the blazer!) I also like the shorts
What I don't Like: The shoes are just unfortunate, and the shirt with that western collared thing is really dampens how amazing the blazer is....maybe if you took the collar tie away and possible made the shirt white, or buttoned up the blazer sans shirt it would be better, but then you dont get that awesome unbuttoned effect

Stella McCartney
What I like: EVERYTHING!!!! this is a great must have spring look!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really also love the shoes, the pants, and look at that blouse.... AMAZING
What I dont like: the bag.... sorry Stella

The Airplane is a runway, and I have a favorite look!

As someone walks down the aisle in an airplane, you look at that person from your two inches of space. Therefore this aisle is a runway, and on my flight from NYC to Chicago I had a  favorite look. And this person happened to be a male!

One of my favorite parts of fashion week is seeing all the editors, bloggers, photographers, models etc. show up at the site of the show. I love seeing all the trends, and what everyone is wearing. This year we saw a lot of cozy furry clothing, a relaxed look, really high high high heels (no surprise), denim, and a lot of color! Here are my favorite looks of fashion weeks in NYC, Milan, London, and Paris!

black and white

Being a New Yorker, I do know that black and white never go out of fashion. Everyone owns a little black dress. But I, being one for color rarely do black and white. But here are some of my favorite mono chromatic moments! But with black and white, you need to go all out because it is easy to go from stylish to boring!

Mr. Khan

Naeem Khan is the son of the Indian royalties' dressmaker. And needless to say, the U.S (and the rest of the world) love him! He designed Michelle Obama's inaugural gown, and his designs have been worn by a-listers around the world! His inspiration is apparent for those who have travelled to India. There is color, feathers, laces, stones, sequins, everything! But Naeem is able to all this, well without over doing it.

He really takes fashion in the right way, something that is not to be taken to seriously, and that is what makes his clothing so stunning and effortless, and let me tell you, it is hard to make an inaugural gown for a fashion icon needless to say just a gown look effortless. Bloggers and editors look at Naeems collections for an idea of what will be seen on the red carpets! Naeems 2011 fall collection was simply STUNNING! While although, I have never seen Louboutins as high as those on a runway, it paired perfectly with these stunning feminine dresses.

The Shift Dress!

Stella McCartney
Missoni
Originally, a shift dress was used as a smock but now it is a mode must! Shift dresses are the best! They can show off your legs while still keeping you away from the red light district! The way they move and fit is incredible! Tips on buying shift dresses is make sure it is not tight around the legs. That is the whole point it is supposed to fall over your body. This look was huge in the 60's and its revival is also very exciting! Shift dresses are as effortless as it gets! If you look at Magdalena in Stella McCartney it is so simple yet so so so powerful. Also the shape of a shift dress is already apparent, and while it might look like there is no shape to a shift dress, there is. The shape is the shift, the way that it falls on top of you. But a shift dress is not a shift dress with a belt, NO BELTS!

My Favorite Heels, EVER! Mwahaha!

Brian Atwood Loca Pumps
As recent trends have obviously proved, the higher the heel the better. Bloggers, fashionistas, and editors did go from show to show, country to country 6 to 7 inches taller than there normal height. But my favorite heels ever are...
Christian Louboutin Daffodiles

Yves Saint Laurent Charlotte court Shoe
Yves Saint Laurent Palais Mohawk Suede Pumps

The Coat/Jacket

The fall runways have put a MAJOR push on coats and jackets. We saw fun oversized blazers, trenches, and pea coats. As mo de la mode previously posted D&G really pushed on the masculine 4 button blazers, and dinner coats. Stella McCartney's pre-fall 2011 put a huge push on oversized things which did appear in her show! Prabal Gurung had some stunning coats as well! Enhanced shoulders were quite the trend!!!

As Fashion Weeks Come to a Colorful Close

ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssAs Fashion weeks in NYC, MILAN, LONDON and Paris all sadly come to a close, mo de la Mode is just starting. A major trend this season was color and tailoring. I just adore a masculine look. While DOLCE and Gobanna brought it to a WHOLE new level they were still able to keep it feminine! UGH beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We also got a LOT of that from madame STELLA MCCARTNEY (one of my personal faves) who brought fun oversized shouldered blazers and coats to the table and mixed extremely precise tailoring with, POLKA DOTS!!! There is something so special about Stella and how simple she is able to keep everything while keeping it exciting! AMAZING! She once sent Natasha Poly down the runway in an oversized cardigan, GENIOUS! plus look at her pre-fall 2011! AMAZING
